Doxycap is a broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic containing doxycycline (commonly as doxycycline hyclate). It works by reversibly binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of susceptible microorganisms, inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and halting cell growth (bacteriostatic effect). Doxycap is highly regarded for its lipophilic properties, excellent tissue penetration, and broad activity against Gram-positive, Gram-negative, atypical bacteria, and certain protozoal parasites.
