  • Black Box Warning: Fluoroquinolones, including Ciprotab, are associated with an increased risk of tendonitis, tendon rupture (especially the Achilles tendon), peripheral neuropathy, and central nervous system effects.

  • Chelation Interaction: Do not take Ciprotab simultaneously with magnesium/aluminum antacids, iron supplements, sucralfate, or calcium-rich foods/beverages, as they significantly reduce drug absorption. Separate dosing by at least 2 hours before or 6 hours after.

  • Phototoxicity Risk: May cause severe sunburns; patients should minimize exposure to direct sunlight and artificial UV light during treatment.
