Gestid is an over-the-counter antacid and anti-flatulent medication widely used to relieve symptoms of excess stomach acid, heartburn, and gas bloating.
Active Ingredients & How It Works
Gestid typically contains a combination of four primary active ingredients designed to balance stomach acid and eliminate trapped gas:

Administration Guidelines

Timing: Best taken 20 to 60 minutes after meals and at bedtime, or as symptoms arise.

Separation Rule (2-Hour Gap): Antacids like Gestid bind to many other oral medications (such as antibiotics like tetracyclines/fluoroquinolones, iron supplements, digoxin, and thyroid drugs), rendering them ineffective. Always separate Gestid from other prescription medications by at least 2 hours.

Kidney Impairment: Avoid or use strictly under medical supervision if you have severe kidney disease, as aluminium and magnesium can accumulate to toxic levels in the blood.

Pregnancy & Breastfeeding: Consult a healthcare provider before use. While generally considered low-risk for short periods, prolonged or high-dose use is not recommended during pregnancy.
